Repeat Prescriptions

As a registered patient, to request a repeat medicine, we have a computerised system which allows you to obtain a number of repeats without seeing your doctor. After an interval agreed with your doctor, you will be asked to make an appointment for a check up. The purpose will be to monitor your condition and to ensure that you are taking the most effective treatment and to check that your current dosage is still the most appropriate.

It is very important that you attend for these regular medication reviews as requested
by your doctor or you may find us unable to issue more medication

In accordance with national guidelines, the practice usually prescribes a 28 day supply of any medicine.

Please note we are not a dispensing practice.

Ordering of a repeat prescription can be done either

· In person - please hand in to the reception desk

· By telephone

Please allow two days for us to process your request.

You must allow an extra day if you want your prescription to be forwarded direct to a pharmacy ready for collection.

All prescriptions must be signed for on collection.

Should you require any other medication that is NOT on your repeat medication list please discuss this with a GP in person first.
